As a Merchant Hub customer you’re in a great position to take advantage of all the buzz and excitement around the UK launch of Apple Pay in the UK, because every card terminal provided by Merchant Hub and our acquiring partner is enabled to accept Apple Pay in store, right from the start. You can even order Apple Pay decals, free of charge, to let your customers know that Apple Pay can be used in your store.

There’s no integration or certification involved as long as you accept MasterCard and Visa contactless transactions. And as a Merchant Hub customer, the chances are you can start welcoming Apple Pay customers in store without doing a single thing.

So simple, everyone will be doing it

To pay, you just have to hold your iPhone near the contactless reader, exactly as you would a contactless card. The payment information will be passed to the POS system only once you authenticate the transaction with your finger on Touch ID as verification for the purchase. Apple Pay doesn’t store the details of transactions so they can’t be tied back to you. Your most recent purchases are kept in Passbook for your convenience, but that’s as far as it goes.
